Imrul Kayes scored 76 before the Bangladesh bowlers shared the wickets among themselves to give the hosts an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series against Zimbabwe at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.

The hosts’ score of 241-9 after batting first seemed to be a little on the short side as several Bangladeshi batsmen got off to starts but were unable to convert the scores.

Tineshi Panyangara was the pick of the bowlers as he claimed 3-41 in his 10 overs.

Taking the lead: Mushfiqur, Shakib inspire Bangladesh to 145-run win

In reply, Zimbabwe lost wickets early on and were reduced to 45-3 in nine overs. Sean Ervine followed soon after but Sikandar Raza (33) and skipper Elton Chigumbura (47) steadied the ship with a 73-run stand to make it seem like the match will go to the wire.

However, Zimbabwe suffered a collapse as they lost their final six wickets for just 32 runs, going from 151-4 to 183 all out to give Bangladesh a comfortable 58-run win.

While every Bangladeshi bowler picked up at least a wicket, Mustafizur Rehman stood out from the impressive bunch with figures of 3-33.
