Part of the event was an interesting installation, at the heart of which was a cage full of guns made of paper. Origami birds of different colours were perched outside the cage. The participating children sat around the installation and prayed for the souls of people who have become victims of violence in Pakistan.
The cage was surrounded by slogans such as ‘cage the guns’ and ‘free the birds of peace’. The bunch of handmade origami doves hanging around the cage contained pledges from children of schools in Karachi. Some of these pledges read: ‘I will not push anyone in the market’ and ‘We don’t need guns but we need peace’.
