KARACHI: DIG South zone Dr Jamil Ahmed issued directives on Friday for the implementation of the Shab-e-Barat security plan. Ahmed issued directives to SSPs, divisional SPs, SDPOs and all SHOs of the South zone and the city’s districts. He instructed them to prevent the sale and use of fireworks during Shab-e-Barat. “If anybody is found selling or using firecrackers, strict action will be taken against him, as per the law,” he said. He said security will be ensured outside all graveyards and mosques of Karachi’s South zone. Ahmed said security camps will be established outside graveyards as well as outside mosques, while police patrols will also be increased in the city. He warned that departmental action will be taken against those showing negligence in their duties pertaining to Shab-e-Barat.
