KARACHI: A former Hyderabad jail superintendent was shot dead on Friday after unidentified assailants opened fire on his in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar area.
According to initial reports, jail superintendent Ejaz Hyder died on the spot after four unidentified men on motorcycles opened indiscriminate fire on his government car.

Hyder’s wife has also been injured in the attack. His body has been shifted to Darul Sehat hospital. Police arrived at the crime scene and further investigation is still under way.
On May 1, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bin Qasim Abdul Fateh Sangri was killed in Gulshan-e-Hadeed area of Karachi.
According to police, unidentified assailants opened fire on the car of the deceased and fled from the scene. Two other policemen, Nazeer and Farooq, were also killed in the incident.
