Impersonators: Two fake security officials held

ISLAMABAD: Police have arrested two persons for allegedly impersonating officials of the security and intelligence agencies and looting people.

Sardar Wali impersonated a customs officer and looted several expats returning from the Middle East over the past few years.

Special investigation unit of the police arrested
Wali dressed in a police uniform at Chungi No 26 on Tuesday.

Police said Wali had confessed to multiple incidents of snatching currency from expats by introducing himself as a government official.

Wali looted Tasawar Nawaz on October 8, 2014, who had come from Dubai and was travelling to his hometown, Haripur.

He also looted Danish Rafiq on August 29, 2015, who had come from Saudi Arabia and was travelling to his hometown Hattian Bala, Azad Kashmir.

Meanwhile, Karachi Company police arrested a man who claimed to be an official of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

Abid Hussain, the suspect, was arrested near the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences.

Hussain, a resident of Azad Kashmir,  was produced before a judicial magistrate on Wednesday and remanded in police custody for two days.
