PESHAWAR: Lawyers must play a critical role in guiding the public in addition to fulfilling their professional responsibilities.
This was said by Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra. He expressed these views while addressing an oath-taking ceremony of Peshawar Bar Association at Nishtar Hall in the city on Saturday.
“Educating the public is a valuable contribution,” he said. “It will enhance the government’s ongoing efforts to empower people so they can compete with the rest of the world.”
“The role of lawyers in dispensing justice, whether it was required for individuals or different segments of the society, is particularly crucial,” the governor added.
According to Jhagra, the sacrifices rendered by tribespeople, security forces and people of the province have ensured peace and stability returns to the entire country, especially Federally Administered Tribal Area.
“It is time to maintain supremacy of the law and safeguard our freedom as a democratic nation,” he said. “Maintaining writ of the state at every cost is the best way to make this possible.”
Subsequently, the governor took oath from the newly elected cabinet members of the Peshawar Bar Association. He congratulated the new members and announced Rs1.5 million for the bar.
