KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) issued on Wednesday non-bailable warrants of arrest for three Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) workers absconding in a terror facilitation case, primarily against party leader Amir Khan.
The warrants were issued for Raees alias Mama, Imran Ijaz Niazi and Naeem alias Mullah. All three are alleged militants involved in targeted attacks across the city, including some high-profile killings.
At the outset of the hearing, the case’s investigating officer submitted before the ATC-IV judge the report about the progress in nabbing the on-the-run suspects. Raids were carried out but in vain, the IO told.
Meanwhile, Khan, who is on bail since June last year, also appeared in the courtroom. A recently arrested suspect, Minhaj Qazi, was also produced by the jail police. The judge directed the IO to present a report about the progress at the next hearing on August 8.
