Ayyan Ali, who was arrested from the airport last year over accusations of money laundering, was barred from travelling to Dubai by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) at Karachi’s airport.
According to Express News, the supermodel was set to leave for Dubai in Emirates airlines flight EK-609, scheduled to leave at 7.45pm.
Following a number of rounds of hearings and petitions, the Sindh High Court (SHC) had ordered on June 2 the removal of her name from the ECL.
SHC once again orders removal of Ayyan Ali’s name from ECL
Customs authorities had arrested her in March 2015 on charges of money laundering after officials recovered $506,000 from her luggage at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad when she was going to Dubai.
In July last year, she was granted bail after spending about four months in Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi.
Sources said Ayyan’s name had again been put under the ECL, which is why she was stopped from flying.
