To ease the problems of citizens, the police will establish police facilitation centres (PFC) across the city.
The first PFC is being constructed in Korangi and will soon start functioning, said Special Security Unit (SSU) commandant AIG Maqsood Ahmed.
A 15-member delegation led by Citizens-Police Liaison Committee chief Zubair Habib visited the under-construction site on Saturday. Habib lauded Ahmed’s efforts for resolving the problems of citizens.

“The idea to establish PFCs initiated by the SSU commandant will be a milestone to resolve the common man’s grievances and help restore public confidence in police,” said Habib. Four separate centres for senior citizens, women, general public and legal advisory will be set up at the PFC, said Ahmed.
Facilities pertaining to providing character certificates, police verifications, legal counselling, advisory services, learner’s driving licence, disputes resolutions, reporting of missing documents, vehicle verification, complaints against police officials, copy of FIR, investigation process and traffic fines deposit facility will be present at the centre, he added.
The commandant also said that all the facilities will be provided in two phases and in the first phase facilities related to the police department will be made available, whereas the facilities related to other departments will be provided during the second phase.
