QUETTA:

Balochistan Assembly passed a joint resolution for the recruitment policy of federal corporations and government employees and formed a committee under the leadership of ex-Chief Minister Abdul Malik Baloch.

Moved by Nasarulah Zehray of PkMAP, Agha Liaqat, Manzoor Kakar, Abdul Majeed Khan Achakzai, William Barkat, Shampozmai Achakzai and Arifa Siddique, the resolution demanded an increase in the employment quota for Balochistan, as well as establishment of industries in the resource-rich province.

The resolution was presented by Syed Liaqat Agha, who said that the quota of Balochistan in the federal departments and corporations was next to none.

The resolution also recommended that the provincial government contact the federal government to increase the quota of the province in government departments and corporations so that the unemployed youth are provided jobs.

Speaking on the contents of the resolution, Liaqat Agha said that the total number of corporations in the country is 186; out of them Punjab has a quota of 50 per cent, while Sindh has 7.6 percent for urban population and 11.4 for the rural population.

He said that K-P has a quota of 11 per cent and the quota of Balochistan is fixed at 6 per cent, which is miserable.
