FIA arrests ‘Facebook hacker’ in Lahore

LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency’s cyber crime wing on Saturday arrested a man for allegedly hacking into Facebook accounts of people and blackmailing them, Express News reported.

The accused, identified as Muhammad Naeem, allegedly blackmailed people with their photos and personal data after hacking into their Facebook accounts, FIA Assistant Director Asif Iqbal said.

“2016 will be the year of eradicating cyber crime from the country,” Iqbal added. A case has also been registered against Naeem.

In November, the cyber crime circle of the FIA claimed to have arrested a young man for allegedly blackmailing a girl via the social networking website, Facebook. FIA officials said that accused, Naveed Ahmed, son of Raheem Dad, has been arrested and pictures and internet EVO devices have been seized from his possession. An FIR No 31/15 under sections 36/37 ETO 2002, read with section 419 of Pakistan Penal Code has been registered.

FIA arrests student for harassing girl on Facebook

FIA officials investigating the case told The Express Tribune that the complainant, Muhammad Iqbal, in his complaint, stated that some unknown person or persons had created a fake Facebook ID with the username ‘Junaid Junaid’ and uploaded his daughter’s picture on the fake Facebook account. He also said the user wrote abusive remarks using the account.
