RAWALPINDI: In a bid to woo voters, the incumbent government of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has initiated a number of development projects in Rawalpindi ahead of the upcoming local government elections. Work on various ongoing projects has also been sped up.

The Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation has initiated work on repair of roads, improving the sewage system and ensuring provision of clean water in 46 union councils of the Rawalpindi District.

Moreover, the PML-N candidates are seen regularly visiting their respective union councils, and asking the local residents of the problems they face on an everyday basis.

ECP earlier on Friday deferred the election process at different union councils in the Rawalpindi district in pursuance of the order of the LHC  Rawalpindi bench.
