MINGORA: The anti-corruption department in Swat confiscated around 25,000 rotten eggs from a vehicle in Mingora on Thursday. Speaking to The Express Tribune, Abdul Haleem khan, an official of the department, said they flagged down a vehicle and recovered the eggs from it. “They were being transported to local hotels and bakeries across Swat.” According to the official, Muhammad Hanif, a resident of Jalala, Malakand, has been arrested in connection with the incident. “Hanif has confessed to supplying substandard eggs below the market rate,” he added. “We also plan to launch an operation against those bakeries, which are using these items to make baked goods.” A case has been registered and further investigation is under way.
