The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa chapter distributed 223 family packages, containing non-food items (NFI) worth Rs14.3 million among people affected by floods in Chitral.
In Orghoch village, PRCS distributed 29 NFIs packages, 16 in Shaghoor, and 48 in Bumboret and Rambur valleys of Kalash, while 115 and 15 packages were distributed in Reshun and Pacheli villages respectively.
The packages were given out per family, and included one tent, a kitchen set and a wood burning stove, two water jerry cans, tarpaulin sheets, mosquito nets, and eight blankets. A hygiene kit was part of the aid bundle.
PRCS teams, comprising officials and volunteers, are assessing the damage caused by floods in Mulkhow and Garam Chashma areas, and will provide relief items to affected people there in the coming days. Furthermore, the non-profit will provide a health facility in Garam Chashma, Bumboret and Reshun once the areas are accessible.
